This means the boys take a leadership role in determining the activities, advancement, and direction of the troop's program with the guidance of adult leaders.
The Boy Scouts of America promote youth leadership training. We believe that each Scout is capable of leading a group of their peers.
Through regular nomination and election every six months, we are able to give each boy a chance to earn a leadership role.
Troop 57 has a core goal of teaching respect and responsibility to the outdoors and to each other. Our Scouts work on developing and improving outdoor skills during numerous camping opportunities throughout the year.
At these outings, the Scouts learn basic survival skills, first aid, personal fitness, and outdoor cooking.
Troop 57's goal is to attend High Adventure Camp every two years. Our most recent trip was in 2018 to the Summit in West Virginia.
Our ultimate goal is to bring out the best in each Scout. We will assist each Scout to make it to the highest rank he wishes to achieve.
